Final, Free Choice Project Reflection: May 30, 2013.
1. For my final project i did the pottery wheel, and mad a bigger bowl thing with a lid. it took me a couple times to get it right, and i came in during study hall to make the lid and glaze.
2.The good or strong part of my project is the glaze bcause it turned out nice and smooth.
3. The thing i could have done better on it was the lid because it doesnt fit perfectly on top of the bowl.
4. The theme of my jar thing is to hold cookies because it looks like something that would. I didnt really mean it to be anything specific. My detain is that i painted the lid black and the bowl white, and dripped the black down on to the white.
5. An important element is the form because everything is rounded. The color is important because it will go with anything.
6. An important principle is contrast because it is white and black. The balace is radial because i can split it anywhere.
7. I learned that the free choice wasnt really a free choice, because Mr. Purdy still put his own rules on it. I can use this to expect that teachers always put their own little twist on everything.
8. I didnt really have an idea on what i wanted to make, i just put something on the pottery wheel and didnt really care how it turned out. Then i put a lid o it because i had to, or it wouldnt count. Then i glazed in and the glaze design just popped into my head so i went with it. I chose black and white because it goes with anything.
9. My project was by chance because i didnt know what i wanted to do. The only challenge was the lid because the first one i used to much clay so i had to make a new one.
10. I think it is a worth while project, because i like being able to do what we want. But i think we should do whatever we want and Mr. Purdy should give us any rules other than good quality. I dont have any plans for art.
