clay vessel reflection (1-D): January 24, 2013.
1. The good or strong parts of my clay vessel is the inside because its nice and smooth.
2. The things i could have done better on my vessel is the ridge because its not all the same thickness.
3. My clay vessel is about the size of a grapefruit. it is shorter and round, and kind of wide. I ddnt really choose for it to be that way it just turned out like that. I knew i didnt want it huge.
4. My vessel is a bowl that i will put food in or smaller things of mine, like jewelry or change.
5. On my fisrt one i used rythm because it spells out my last name, so letters repeat but not the same letters. On my Exceeds i used pattern because the rim has dots around it that is all he same size and shape, and distance apart from each other.
6. I learn to take my time. i learned if i went to fast it didnt turn out as good. If i put moe time into it, it will probably turn out better.
7. First i got a piece of clay and wedged it so it didnt have any air bubbles. Second i pushed my thumb in the middle of it and started opening it up. I started making it circular and then it became a bowl. at the end i smoothed it and gave it a pattern.
8. I think this is a good project to start off with. Its an easier project to just get used to working with clay.
